As a quasi-agnostic former-evangelical Buddhist, I think this rocks! I always like it when people actually read the Bible rather than torque it to fit their own prejudices!
Although. . .this is totally prejudiced against divorced people! :-)
I was raised in a really richy rich church. My mom had a little saying about how a preacher's suit shouldn't cost more than the one of the poorest member of the congregation.
"Give up your kingdom for the Kingdom of Heaven" apparently doesn't mean anything anymore.
I remember reading a Time magazine one time and there was a letter to the editor saying that Mormons weren't true Christians because Mormons believe that salvation is through belief in Jesus and doing good works. Apparently REAL Christians only achieve salvation through believing in Jesus Christ.
If Jesus wasn't from the good ol' US of A how come The Bible is written in American? Because of good ol' King James I.....of America, at a guess. All I need to know now is where Pontius Pilate comes in and it can be my specialist subject....
As spot on as I find this information, I really don't like anyone putting words in Jesus' mouth; even if they are doing it to stick it to self-absorbed, whinny, hypocritical church-goers. There are several things that this portion takes out of context that are just as bad as what the Evangelical Right does on a constant basis.
Every now and then, I used to drive by one of those churches with the three huge crosses (made of I-beams) out front, and I'd think to myself, if Jesus really does come back, they're ready for him.
Gnostics were probably the first and real X-tians. I love Gnosticism, it makes a lot of sense to me. The Church killed them and their writings, but some survived in The Dead Sea Scrolls and in what's called the Apocrypha. Religion without mysticism is Dogma. Dogma is a way of controlling people and their thoughts. I mean, come on! I get more spirituality from a sunset than a religion.

If Jesus was real, I'd say he'd be proud of whoever created this.
Great stuff!
