Slam Poetry: I've posted this other places before, but I don't think I've put it here.

Why aren't we seeking out these guys and gals, instead of our current crop of 'teachers'?

Why are we setting standards based on students, and not instructors?

Why do we give more money to the lawyers who sue the schools than the schools get themselves?

In twelve and a half years of public education (I quit in the middle of my senior year), I had exactly two teachers like this: One was a computer basics teacher that I still talk to today, and the other is a professional architect that I studied under for four years. Now, I'm looking forward to being a structural engineer.

What could we be if we were based on the future? Flying cars, my friend. Flying cars.
