The Supreme Court on Gitmo



While I can see why our Constitution would not neccessarily bestow any rights on foreigners captured in other countries - even if they are held on what is essentially US property - I don't see what's so bad about it. Our justice system does a pretty damn good job of making sure the really bad guys get locked up. So, I'm not worried about them getting out any time soon. Plus, what about the goodwill we earn in the world by not acting like dictatorship.

In my mind, the irony is that if GWB didn't overreach as much as he did and instituted a more fair, acceptable process from day 1, it wouldn't have come to this.

Only about 220 days left until the US can be born again and begin to heal from the wounds inflicted by this presidency. I, for one, can't wait!
